Friday was the day of both ups and down for American and Americans as well. More than two hundred protesters were arrested and at least 6 police officers were wounded amid the inaugural ceremony of the 45th United States President Donald Trump, the businessman, TV personality and politician.
The morning started with peaceful protests and gradually coordinated with disruptions of the oath taking ceremony paving ugly street clashes in downtown Washington.
According to DC Fire Spokesman Vito Maggiolo, two DC police officers were injured in the clashes and taken to hospital along with one other person.
The chaos erupted on 12th and K streets as protesters smashed bus stops and storefronts. Officers launched smoke and flash-bang devices to disperse the crowds.
The police said, “Pepper spray and other control devices were used to control the criminal actors and protect persons and property.”
Similar protests also broke in Dallas, Seattle, New York, Portland and Chicago.
Anti-Trump protests were also seen in Berlin, London and Hong Kong.
One of the protesters said Trump is a fascist. Six protesters at the event venue chanted US Constitution preamble wearing a letter of the word “RESIST” as Trump stepped forward to take the oath. It made tough for others to hear the oath words from the new president.
